| This shawl is made of the same dyestuff and technique of Edo Period( 1603-1867) kimono. Takahashi san is a very skilled yuzen dyer and a famous student of ancient yuzen work. He choices 'Ushikubi Tsumugi' for this shawl, which is one of the highest quality silk in Japan. Recently lots of Chinese silk threads are imported, but 'Ushikubi Tsumugi' is woven only with pure Japanese silk. ( 'Ushikubi Tsumugi' kimono is exceptionally expensive, and it costs about a million yen.) He dyes with only natural dyestuffs, which were used in Edo Period( 1603-1867). Yuzen technique is also the same as Edo. If you have seen Edo kimono, you must find the same charm in the shawl. Colors are soft and genteel, and its hand paint touch is natural and beautiful. Takahashi san hand dyed elaborately one piece by one piece. This piece is truly one of a kind. *size 17.9 in ( 45.5 cm) x 63.0 in ( 160 cm) *Approx background color - HTML code ( ABACAC) ■■■ *It is hand dyed, and has some slight brush lines in the background part ( It is not flaw.) |
