- Born in Kobe in Showa 18( 1944 ) . He was an independent boy - he says
he had never done homework! After graduation, he tried several professions
and hoped strongly the work, which he could do by himself from the beginning
to the end consistently.
- Started to work at workshop of Kobe Satsuma Yaki, when Yuzan san was 20
years old.
- Machiko san was introduced him by her friends. She was astonished with his work and was strongly charmed by him. She believed he had to give her happy and interesting married life, because 'He is making such incredible items I have never seen!'
- In 1971 they built workshop and had make his own kiln. Kobe Satsuma Yaki
were made by division of labor, but he had learned both molding and painting,
so he could make whole work by himself.
- Machiko san had art mind before wedding, although she didn't learn painting
formally. One day Yuzan san suddenly told her, 'Paint here'. He tells he
taught her with quarrels, and now she can also paints incredibly fine pattern
same as his husband. Her works has unique elegant and feminine taste compared
to her husband's works.
- Yuzan san says, ' I am very true only to myself. I do only what I really hope.' Machiko san is smiling beside him. She must support him well for long time both as wise wife and good job partner.
